What is Listia?
Listia is quite literally a cross between a penny auction site and ebay. When you sign up, you are given credits as a bonus, plus more from a variety of incentives around their site. (Or the quick way, buy more) And you use these credits to bid on items!
What makes it similar to ebay is that the people who auction off their items are usually items that they own, and the condition will vary, most often, the seller will tell you the condition and show helpful pictures of the item(s).
Instead of giving them cash when you win, (you still may have to pay for shipping for the item you won) you give them the credits you used to bid on it. Also, if you win, you may not have to forfeit all the credits you bidded, for example, if you bidded 5,000 credits on an item and won, the seller may only take 4,000 credits, this is usually due to the fact what the seller originally wanted when they put the said item up for auction.
Here's another great thing about Listia, as also like ebay, you can also sell things you own for credits, and it can be anything you have laying around that you may want to get rid of, or may have no/little value at a local pawn shop. You can start you own action, set amount of credits you want, or set a minimum auction amount, take pics of the said item, and post it! People who are interested, will bid on it, and whoever wins will give you their credits, and here's the best bit, you can either decide to pay for the shipping yourself, or have the winner pay for it!
From what I have learned, the community there is very friendly and helpful! :)
